About Colonial Capital:

Colonial Capital, LLC is a private lending institution that provides asset based financing and fast closings to borrowers. We specialize in financing situations that are not typically serviced by conventional lenders. We are able to provide such loans because the money we lend comes from private sources and is not subject to the restrictions imposed on conventional banks. We are known for our ability to quickly assess complex opportunities and our simplified approval process.

Typical loan amounts range from $30,000 to $3,000,000, although we are able to broker loans up to $30 million. Colonial Capital provides financing for many types of real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, fix and flips and construction of single-family residential, apartments, retail, office and industrial projects, as well as mezzanine financing, workouts and refinancing, just to name a few.

Key Personnel:

Robert E. Leonard is the Executive Director and the majority owner of Colonial Capital, LLC.  He has held this position since 2003 and is active in all aspects of the company.

Prior to Mr. Leonard's involvement with Colonial Capital, Mr. Leonard was president and co-owner of Main Street Financial Group, Inc. (“Main Street”).  He served in that capacity from 1995 to 2003, during which time Main Street grew into an active real estate mortgage company with offices in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.  For the final three years of his tenure as President of Main Street, the company averaged over $90,000,000 per year in real estate loans.  In addition to his management responsibilities at Main Street, Mr. Leonard was responsible for origination and underwriting of real estate loans, as well as for capital raising efforts.

Before forming Main Street Financial Group, Mr. Leonard was Vice President for Annapolis Mortgage Corporation where he was involved with all aspects of real estate lending and was responsible for capital raising efforts.  Mr. Leonard also served four years as Assistant Vice President of Valley National Bank, where he marketed investment management and originated all types of real estate loans while heading up a priority banking division. Prior to Valley National Bank, Mr. Leonard specialized in real estate lending at United Bank of Arizona.  

In all, Mr. Leonard has over 25 years of experience in real estate lending, money management and raising capital.  Mr. Leonard received his Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University in 1981 and has been and continues to be a member of various professional and civic organizations, including the Arizona Association of Mortgage Brokers, the Executive Council of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix, and the Sun Angel Advisory Council.

J. Marshall Boyce is the firm's Senior Vice President with over 30 years experience in the banking industry. His experience includes analyzing and underwriting all types of residential and commercial construction loans, as well as commercial real estate loans, acquisition and development loans.
 
Prior to joining Colonial Capital, Mr. Boyce spent three years as Sr. Vice President of First International Bank & Trust, located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Next he spent eight years as Sr. Vice President of Western Security Bank in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mr. Boyce has held a number of senior bank positions with a variety of institutions in Arizona, Kansas and Missouri.

Mr. Boyce graduated with a B.S., in Business Administration and Economics from Kansas State College in 1969. He is a graduate of the Omega Commercial Lending School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1981, and a graduate of the National School of Real Estate Finance in Columbus, Ohio in 1978.

Mr. Boyce continues to be a member of various civic organizations including: former Treasurer of the Lions Clubs, former Ambassador for the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, and member and current President of the Scottsdale Business Association.

Chris Carlson is the firm's Assistant Vice President. Mr. Carlson is involved in appraisal validation, property research, database development and loan documentation.  Mr. Carlson serves as the liaison for Colonial Capital and the various Title Insurance Companies.

Before joining Colonial Capital, Mr. Carlson graduated from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business. In 2004 he earned his Bachelors degree in business management, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 G.P.A receiving the Moyer Award of Distinction.

Diana Ace is our Office Manager. She is a 1986 graduate of Clarion University, Clarion Pennsylvania.  She graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Office Management and brings with her over 20 years of experience. Ms. Ace is responsible for the administrative duties of the office as well as loan documentation and Investor relations.
